Instruments Cluster R&R Labor Cost
Hi Members, I have a 2012, 991, 911S and have considered removing my OEM gauge cluster and replacing it with SunCoast's non-OEM clusterl with WHITE dial faces. Can anyone offer advice on how much labor is involved in doing such a switch?
Anyone have any experience with SunCoast's replacement instrument cluster?
And a more generic question: car manufactures in the past use to publish "book rates" that were used to establish how long it took (labor hours) for an experienced technician to perform maintenance tasks. Does Porsche offer such a document for our cars?
Thanks, Gene

personally I'd say dont ... getting the dash back together w/o a squeak etc will be tough!

I'm moderately interested in this as well. I have a white (or silver) tach faceplate and find it hard to read without staring at it - not good.
My 996 had the silver faced gauges and they were awesome, the 991 gauge faces don't have enough contrast. Fortunately we have the Shift Assistant in the glass gauge because I can't begin to read the tach well enough and quickly enough to pick a shift point - but now that I've driven the car for a month I do most shifting by ear, but the Shift Assistant trained me.
Op - have you seen a car with the gauge face color you like? And is that the exact same color offered at Suncoast?

I've seen photos of the white-face gauges. They appear to have considerably more contrast than mine (in black). But you are right! I need to see them in-person before going any further. Thanks! Gene
