Any of you guys negotiated a price discount on the new 991.2 that you ordered?

I was going for 2 (>1 being a "group") .
Coming from a BMW this is lousy discount, either way.
Sales person barked back and said "this is not a BMW" so we'll see which way the Porsche winds blow.
Looking at CPOs also and STG has been a huge help!!

4 to 5% is actually roughly the average discount that folks have reported getting on ordered 991.2. If you believe the dealer's gross margin on these cars to be 10 to 12%, then it is a fair deal for a brand new model... in my mind. It would be interesting to see a RL group buy with delivery at the PEC Atlanta...Someone who is thinking about ordering one, should look into this.

By the way, having been with BMW for 25 years and seen the deterioration in product quality and customer experience for the sake of pushing mass sales, you DO NOT want Porsche to go in that direction... in my opinion...

4-5% now is very good. Will bump up to 6-7% I'm sure later this year. Could happen now if you shop around enough. There's only so many allocations right off the bat. Anytime there's something "new" the deals aren't that great. Some dealers are barely discounting anything.
Many Porsche dealers are riding a bit high with record sales over the past couple years. Easy to forget the not so good times. Don't take it for granted dealers.
Buyer: I was thinking a 6.5% discount
Sales guy: No way. This isn't a BMW, it's a Porsche. Best I can do is 3%
12 months later on a $130K MSRP 991.2 S purchased by above buyer......
Owner: looking to trade in my 2017 991.2 S. Has 12K miles.
Sales guy: Sounds good. Trade in value of $93K
Owner: $93K??? Are you serious?? $35K+ hit in 12 months?? You said this wasn't a BMW!!
By the way guys. It's all the car business. Just different brands!! Some may have you think it's a privilege to be able to buy a certain car. It's really not

Just to put things into perspective.
2015 Porsche sales in the US - just under 52k vehicles
2015 BMW sales in the US - 346k vehicles
2015 Porsche 911 US sales - just 10k vehicles... to put it in perspective, BMW sold 11k i3s in 2015...

My 991.2 is scheduled to built near the end of April, so the delivery to the US will be around July? My dealer told me the ETA is around May. Does anyone know the proper ETA for a April build?
