Default My GTS has arrived!

After ordering my car over 5 months ago, it’s finally arrived. Of course with my luck as I was driving away from the Xpel installer, it started to rain. After months of dry weather I have gotten caught out in the rain twice now since picking it up a few days ago. It’s only melted a bit so I’m not too worried about it, lol. Break in is going to be difficult; this thing revs so easily it just begs to be let loose. The only issue I’m having is a bit of a learning curve with the clutch. I have driven manuals for over twenty years but for some reason this is a bit tricky, especially with that hill hold feature. It’s probably just a muscle memory issue with the BMW manuals I have driven. Regardless, I love it so far, this is my first Porsche and I have wanted one forever.

Here is my build:
  • Jet Black Metallic
  • Leather Interior
  • Premium Package Plus
  • ParkAssist (Front and Rear) with Reversing Camera
  • Sunroof
  • Aerokit Cup
  • Manual Transmission
  • PASM Sport Suspension
  • Deletion of Alcantara
  • Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way)
  • Multifunction Steering Wheel
  • Smoking Package
  • Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell
  • Instrument Dials in White
  • Sport Chrono Clock Dial in White
  • Porsche Crest on Headrests

Congratulations. Beautiful car. My last 991s was Jet Black Metallic too, enjoy keeping it clean, it's worth it. And being a US resident you get to enjoy breaking it in too.

Love that you went with something other than the black center lock wheels. Looks great.

Very nice. Love the options and color combo. The silver C2S wheels work very nicely with the jet black exterior.

Aerokit looks great! How is the base sound package? I opted for the Bose in mine and have probably only listened to it once. I knew I should have saved the $2K

Sweet! Jet Black Metallic is nice. Aerokit Cup + SPASM rounds it out nicely!

Nice looking rig!! Happy Turkey Day...had a car delivered yesterday! What a great start to the holiday season...and you will love the 7-speed in the GTS; it is so engaging and a pleasure to drive. FYI clutch on my 15' GTS coupe was serviced 2k miles in and afterwards was a WHOLE different shift/feel (more rifle-bolt like). And the sound is so unique...enjoy!

What was wrong with your clutch?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! I have always liked the white dials ever since I saw the movie No Man's Land when they stole the black 911 right after passing over the Ferrari. I know most people go for the center locks but I thought that black wheels on a black car may be a bit much. Plus I prefer the old school 5 lug setup. I think if the CL was more like a F1 wheel I may have thought differently.

As for the clutch I'm getting better with it. I wish you could disable hill hold though, as a long time manual driver, I prided myself on never using the e-brake to when stopped on a hill.

Yeah I have read all of the pros and cons in regards to break in. Also that the manuals say different things in different regions. This will most likely be a long term keeper so I guess I'm just playing it safe.

Base is fine but it does not blow me away (not that it should). It's funny, not getting the Bose is the one option that I look back on and not sure about. Don't regret getting it. At the end of the day with the cost cars like these you'll forget about that extra 2k in no time.
