I lurked on this site for over a year using the archives to see what folks thought of each option I ordered on my car. Some things such as "black tachometer gauge" and "smoking package" I would not have had a clue about despite having 911s since 1971. The PDCC seemed interesting to me and I read many threads pro and con before ordering it. I also decided what expensive options did not really appeal to me.
More importantly, after seeing Ford and other makes offering thousands off in their ads and then throwing more cash at you after the sale . . . I found that when buying a specially ordered Porsche Carrera that 5% to 7% is about all others are really getting unless the car has been sitting on the lot for awhile.
This is a great forum for new buyers to Porsche . . . we need to remember to be gentle with their ignorance about our favorite cars!
