Default iPod Auxiliary Cord

I just took delivery of a new C2S. It was purchased from an out of state dealer. I don't see an Auxiliary cord to plug my iPod into. Is that something you have to purchase separately or is it supposed to come with it?

Porsche doesn't give away anything for free. You have to buy your own.

Why don't you do the customary proper introduction with pics since you finally bought a car?

Porsche doesn't know/care what device you'll be using. Buy the proper cord, which I'm sure you already have and plug into the glove box.

+ That way you can list ALL your future questions in ONE place too. That's the way it's done here.

You're going to have to open your wallet and spend the $20. Don't feel bad though. When I ordered my 599 Ferrari in 2007, Ferrari charged $900 for this mysterious cable. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was the same Apple cord that I could have bought for $30.

Does this mean you spent the $900?

I use the cable that came with my iPhone. Thin. Soft. And flexible. Closes easily on cord with no issues from the glove box door. Long enough for the phone to rest on the passenger seat. Easy to stow back away when not using, back into the glove box.

Got it, didn't realize it's just the cord that comes with phone. I'll try to get a post up tonight with pics. Thanks.

Unfortunately yes. At the time, the dealer had no information about this mysterious cable and Ferrari of Italy was no help. But this cable was not the stupidest thing Ferrari charged me. I ordered a 430 Scuderia with radio delete. I had no idea that Ferrari was literally removing the radio and leaving an open hole where the radio would have gone. Without my consent, Ferrari put a carbon fiber cover over the hole and tacked on $1200 to the MSRP. As an aside, radio delete also meant no wiring harness if I ever wanted to install a radio at a later date. Ferrari wanted another $5K to ship me the harness. Live and learn. My brother and I have had 80 plus Ferraris. We've got horror stories that you wouldn't believe. We laugh about them now but they weren't funny at the time. Didn't mean to hijack this thread.

Your stories are much more interesting than iPod cables I like these kinds of stories.

This is one of the areas Porsche is actually cheap as you can use the OEM cable. For Mini or BMW you also had to buy $100 cables from them if you wanted to operate your device via the car unit

Ok. Just one more and I will stop. My brother ordered a new 550. The car was sitting in Ferrari's New Jersey warehouse waiting to be put on a truck to be delivered. Days go by then weeks go by and the car still hasn't arrived at the dealership. Ferrari refuses to tell the dealership where the car is. Months later we find out that a famous race car wanted a 550 and didn't want to wait for one to be built. So Ferrari allowed this guy to come to the warehouse and pick any 550 he wanted. The one he picked was my brother's. Ferrari was hush hush on all this but our dealer was 99.9% sure the race car driver was Mario Andretti.
