Default 2019 Porsche 911 Spy Shots

This reporter claims that this is a mule for 2019 Porsche 911 (992):

Well, to my eyes, it looks quite similar to 991.2. But at this juncture, Porsche wouldn't need to test 991.2, which is already in production stage. So it must be 992.

Imo, this could be a mule of the coming 911R
(due as 50 years anniversary, to celebrate the famous run of 20 prod. cars, by Baur, back in 1967.)

Correct OP, it's a 992 (next generation). What a perfect title to your thread, and being number one with the scoop on RL!

It's NOT the 911R or GTS. The 991.2 is already old news cancel those deposits!

It's pretty hilarious to look at a test mule for any clues of the final car. It's a test mule!!! Like did this 918 test mule bear any resemblance to the final 918?

Of course it does. It's just missing a few panels! Same car.

You joke, but my dealer says, people put all kinds of crazy deposits down on future Porsches that don't exist and may or may not ever be made. For instance he says right now they have several deposits on a 991 GT2 (should it ever be made.) He said people had deposits down on the Macan when it was just a rumour of a Cayenne Jr. and no one had seen it. I think that's hilarious. They said that lots of people forget they put down deposits (up to $10K) and leave the country or die and they have to chase down relatives to try and give the money back. Too funny.

When you have the money and these cars are produced in such limited numbers, I don't see the issue with placing a deposit on one. It's about getting a car that is personalized to your tastes, not the previous owner's or the dealership's.

I'm taking non refundable deposits of $10k on the 2020 Porsche 911 E.

PM me for bank wire instructions.

The most interesting part of that article aren't the pictures but the news about the new modular platform the next 911 will be built on. No longer a a rear-engine specific platform (like current and past 911s) it will now be a generic platform that will be used for 911 and mid-engined VAG cars like Cayman, R8 and Lambo. Wow. That's pretty brutal. Just one generic platform for all. I guess that's what happens when you get bought by VW.

We know it will ride on a new modular sports car platform being developed by Porsche. The platform will allow greater flexibility when it comes to positioning of the engines and suspension hardware. The platform will also underpin next-generation versions of the Boxster and Cayman and possibly the next-gen Audi R8 as well as Lamborghini’s replacement for the Aventador.
