One of my key fobs (car is 2012.5 991) has started eating its battery. It runs down enough to cause a low battery warning within weeks of replacing the battery.
I suppose it could be multiple bad batteries, but that seems strange. Anyone else run into this?

In the old post, only one button on the key did not work. This looks like a different problem where the battery is actually dying. Maybe there is a button with a contact that is stuck and draining the battery?

I searched. You didn't read my questions did you? Or perhaps you could point me to the post that covered the topic- I could not find it.Originally Posted by LexVan

I doubt very much that this problem is related to the batteries. I think they program these to self-destruct as soon as warranty expires!
I suggest you try your other remote for a while to see if the problem happens with it. Most likely the issue is with the remote, as PTGFAR suggested, a stuck button or such.
Good luck!

I've started using the "second" key. It is literally the first issue that I have had in 3.5 years and 30k miles. Will see what the dealer has to say.
