Is the car listed on the internet somewhere? Post a link if it is plus post where exactly the car is located. I bet there's a member close that could put their eye on the car for you or with you when you drive up.

FWIW I bought my '97 993TT and '98 C4S Aero just before each was 10 years old. Each was bought in a private sale. Took the cars to my local Porsche dealer who was glad to sell me a CPO. The car has to be under 10 years old and pass a dealer PPI.
