Default 991 Duck tail question

I have a '14 CS with the 030 Sport Chasis and Sport PASM. I believe that package comes with a different front spoiler than the normal Carrera S. I want to add a duck tail but don't really want to change the front spoiler. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this will make the aerodynamics compromised if I don't?

Porsche suggests the front Sport Design bumper. Realistically, for any normal driving it should not be an issue. Hit like 110MPH+, the duck will have more rear downforce and could you get some front end drift?? Maybe?

I have never heard a very solid answer in this, other than "Porsche suggests" ...

During my build with Porsche Exclusive, I requested to keep the narrow slatted rear engine deck grill on my GTS with my ducktail and was told I could have both due to "aerodynamic issue". Hard to say if this is a really an issue.

Guess this will be an ongoing dilemma, as I am planning to swap my engine cover back to the GTS grill cover (ordered it with duck). This other post led me to believe that it was just a brake light issue.

I'm doing the exact same thing the day it arrives. Just won't hook up the light on the deck.

Do you know if there is a cover plate for the gts grill brake light?

I believe the front nose with the 030 Sport Chasis has a more aggressive lip than the standard Carrera S. My question is, does anyone know anything about this part of the 030 package? If that is true, the ducktail might work without the front portion of the "sport package".

I have tried repeatedly to obtain reliable down force information on my Aero Kit Spoilers both front and rear. I have not been successful. All I can say is that I can notice the difference starting around 80mph with no PASM activated.

My former 2014 C2 with stock spoiler started to drift at 120+. I would guess that it would be even more pronounced with the duck tail and without a modified front spoiler.

I'm actually wondering the same thing but with the Aerokit spoiler. I would really like to add the rear spoiler but not the front bumper.

I don't. Options are leave it, paint it glossy black, or somehow get a single slat to replace that one IMO.

Seeing as I wont have my car for another 1.5 months, im sure someone here will experiment with this before I do and come up with something.

correct it does have a different lip (see suncoast for details) and it will fit your car.

It will probably add some additional effects but who knows if it will 'match' the ducktail...

In this world of life or death scenarios..................

If faced with the daffy question of duck or no-duck.

I choose........DUCK.

I just took delivery of my CC (again) and had the chance to look at my ducktail, engine lid, and light cover. The engine lid has a black piece in the shape of the 3rd brake light on the engine cover. I was able to wiggle it, therefore, I assume it can be ordered as a separate part.

Where is the thread that addresses where someone wants to use a GTS engine cover for the ducktail?

That is correct. I added the ducktail after the fact. I'm not sure where it came from, maybe with the ducktail? But when we transferred my third brake light from the grill to the ducktail. There was a black "dummy" piece that we snapped into the grill in place of the third light on the grill. It's the exact same shape as the light. Just snaps in for a clean look.

If that adds any insight!
