Not possible. Whole different engine (turbo), and newly designed exhaust trying to mimic the sound of the 991.1 NA PSE. From what I've heard, not even close.

Center placement draws the eye into an illusion of the whole thing being a tube (with a somewhat compressed bottom half). It lifts the car off the ground and makes it appear less planted.

If I want to move around in a tube I'll take the subway.
I'm going to cry. Sorry to say i am really beginning to believe that some on here really don't have a clue.

Clue as to what, exactly? Your, personal, subjective view on things?

Graphics design doesn't account for taste. Not much to argue about.

I am offering an explanation why some do not like the center look, especially the center look with two pipe that are not right next to each other. Single rectangular pipe, maybe even dual pipe do not have the problems I describe.

The "big problem" (a first world one) is that if the soundclips posted right now are correct PSE is now a real must for anybody who wants a good sounding car. It is bad enough that you get charged $3000 for it, but if it makes the looks worse for you?

I don't know about must. I'm personally fine with going aftermarket, and saving the original should I ever decide to resell the vehicle.

Yeah but it'll probably take some time for people to figure out the secrets of making the turbo sound good. The soundclips are surprisingly NA like. If the clip is correct I suspect that they do something fairly complicated.

How come so many people assume just because a car has turbos it can't sound good? There are plenty of examples out there

Yes but the 997.2 clips are updated and it's not one of those without the PSE. Whether the PSE clip is correct is a different question.

I'm old to Porsche, and don't like the look of it either.

Was at an HPDE this weekend. Buddy of mine brought his tuned M5. It's the TT V8 version (unsure of year). It sounded plenty "v8-ey" despite the turbos. It had an akrapovic exhaust.

BMW has a particularly large team working on the sound of their cars, and for a long time already. Read an article about it some years back. They understand the importance. And don't require a $3000 exhaust option.

I'm with you there, right up until the point where they started using the stereo to "augment" the in-car experience

Don't porsche now do the same? Or at least some kind of resonator?

Secondly, I find it hilarious that BMW is attempting to augment the sound of their cars with the stereo whilst my SRT8 Grand Cherokee is doing the exact opposite.

Sounds composer pipes intake sound into the cabin, BMW uses the stereo AFIAK that crosses a line for me.
