OK, rub it in. But the day will come when we'll have ours, and we won't have paid VAT. So there!

I do not like the vertical vents. Why would they change that?

Better air flow management for the turbo intercoolers.

AFAIK, they haven't even started production of 4/4S yet. I have a 4S on order and Porsche told me production would not start until January at the earliest with first deliveries in March/Arpril so my bet is they do not have a car.

Agreed. It's such a shame they changed it. To me, the vents and rear lights on the 991.1 are perfection. The absolute best part of the car. And totally timeless. Shame they had to change both. Not for the better.

That's the thing about aesthetics, hawc: you and I can look at the very same things and come to absolutely different opinions.

Take the vents on the rear deck of the 991.1 for example. You see perfection. I've been looking at those the same vents for years, and every time without fail I've thought the rear deck looked cheap as hell. It's certainly cheap to make; a stamped metal panel devoid of trim. Now along comes the 991.2, and once again the "911" (sic) has a traditional Porsche grille, and we can now turn our attention to the proper direction of the slats.

£2,500 over list price for a soon to be mass produced car? Why?

I am not a big fan of the new rear vent, but after learning that is was changed for engineering reasons rather than aesthetics I am OK with it.

Car was not available for viewing over the weekend. I am still awaiting a call to say it has arrived. Dealer says they do own the car, it came from Porsche and it will be available this week, to view and or buy..

Keep you posted.
