Larry do you by chance know how much more OEM forged wheels might weigh over HREs or other high end types? I know there can be quite a bit of variance with design etc. But do you think they may be 5lbs or so heavier per wheel?

My car is coming with the Turbo S wheels and I won't change them out. But that just came to mind and I know you got some nice forged wheels not long ago. Thank you!

Scary thing = the Internet sideshow has the ability to screw with people's and companies reputations instantly over the dummest stuff many times. Very unfortunate.

This "instantly connected" world we live in is good/dangerous at the same time.

HRE = keep up the good work.

not that anyone needs to or will listen to me, but Ive raced with HREs, professionally, for many years, in fact, the monoblok race wheels that are produced now are a direct descendent of the wheels that were made for me and my cars about 6 years ago.
Ive wrecked more than i care to admit, and in some of the most horrific wrecks, i bent wheels in the worst way (imagine a taco), but the HREs NEVER broke! Every other brand of wheel I had used previously did, into pieces.

Ill never put another wheel on my cars.

FYI, i no longer race, or get any kind of deal from HRE, although my former team still does use HRE. So this post is just an honest endorsement nothing else!!!

Here's something else worth watching on this topic, Mercedes of Australia did a test on its genuine wheels vs Chinese knock-offs. I know a lot of people here and on other car forums like the price points of the Taiwanese / Chinese wheels that look like premium wheels. I went down that path briefly myself, buying a set of ACE wheels for my Aston Martin based on raves from other forum members. They were junk, with terrible runout and never did balance well. They were on the car for three months before I replaced them with HRE's. No regrets.

Anyways, here's what happens when your Chinese wheels hit a pothole.

Yes they do that wheel in center lock!

All their high end wheels are all made to order to your specs! Truly customized.

Wheel Enhancement in Los Angeles is a great retailer of HRE's and ships them all over. Call Dave over there. They know Porsche's very well!!

I hit this:

A couple of years ago "at speed" with my HRE P40SC's ... I caused a flat spot on the rim, but apart from that there was NO drama (well my drivers side driving mirror popped out)

These wheels are extremely strong and light, I would not put anything else on my GT3.

& HRE!

Being one of their top dealers - it is honestly true what they say, you get what you pay for. We have seen tons of wheel companies come and go and being located right across the street from HRE, i know how much hard work and effort really goes into producing this product.

Thats why we constantly find ourselves putting them on 911's
