How to Sync Genie with Homelink
It looks like many have struggled with syncing Porsche Homelink with their garage door opener. After much research, trial, error, and connecting of the dots, I finally figured it out. For my Genie (ReliaG 850), here is the scoop:
1. Sync your garage remote control with the car (as per the Porsche instruction manual).
2. Sync your garage door opener unit to your car (so the opener will recognize your Homelink as a garage door opener) - in the case of my model:
a. Hold the square "program" button for five seconds. One circular blue light will come on and then a second or two later an oblong blue light will come on.
b. After the second blue light comes on, release the program button and then press it again. A purple oblong light will start to flash.
c. Push the button (I, II, or III) that you synced with the remote control. Hold it down. Your door should open.
I had my car directly under the garage door opener unit when performing this. Hope this helps!
