Believe it or not, the only thing that gets me stressed out about this is not being able to enjoy my car while it is at the dealer.

If it happens again, I will have it towed to the dealer, over and over until it is either fixed or the AZ lemon law kicks in.
That's great! When I got my first coolant fault I was on my way to run COTA for the first time and was multiple thousands in to the weekend without turning a wheel on track. I was pissed and disappointed as the car was still very new. Turned out to be a cov and I was able to participate in the event but for about 12 hours I was ready to fire bomb the car!

I wonder if there is an oil thermostat or crossover valve controlling oil temperature that failed. I'm sure it's something simple.

I think Porsche has just programmed a 194F into the water temp. Mine used to read 205 continuously, then after an update now reads 194 continuously.

The dealer tells me they uploaded the info to Porsche Car NA and still waiting for guidance.
Anyone else experienced this?
BTW does the dealer know that this occurred while you were on a race track, I hope not.

A DE event would not matter. Club Racing, a timed event, probably would. Our major dealerships sponsor PCA DE events here. In fact, my dealership Sales Manager just took my buddy and me to a private track event 2 weeks ago. It probably helped that I referred my buddy to him to purchase his new 991 Turbo.

Sure seems odd that the dealer and PCNA haven't made any progress as yet. Here's a link to Porsche's service information document (relevant section starts @ pg. 64).

Seems like the coolant/oil heat exchanger could be a likely culprit, but you would think they would have been able to identify it fairly easily. Hope you're back on the road soon.

UPDATE:
After 2 weeks I finally got the car back. The fault was caused by overheating transmission. They replaced the trans temp sensor under warranty.

Last week I used the car under spirited driving conditions, Sports Plus in auto and after 10-15 minutes of driving the oil temp increased to 265F. No engine fault but still hot. I let my dealer know and the foreman's answer was: "The avg rpm is more than likely consistently over 4 or 5k in sport plus mode auto. The car should run much cooler if you leave it in sport mode not sport plus and auto and the lap times will probably be the same." ...which I interpret as " do not use sports mode plus for spirited driving".
I am escalating. Question:
When you guys use sports plus in auto, what is your oil temp?

That does not sound right.

My car is a 7MT and PowerKit, so different than you, but in Sport Plus, and spirited driving, the highest oil temp I've seen is 232 in +95 degree humid weather.

That's not necessarily true. I know of one instance where PCNA covered a major warranty repair but voided the balance of the CPO warranty immediately thereafter because the car was used in DE. There is a caveat in your warranty that allows them to deny coverage for any use of the car while on track...DE, racing or otherwise. The "warranty does not cover...accident...competition, racing, or track use". While tracking the car in and of itself won't void the warranty, PCNA won't cover damage resulting from track use.

While the dealers may participate in DE events, and will go to bat for you to get damage repaired, PCNA takes a different outlook on paying for your track related repairs.

I'd keep that info to yourself that the situation happened while on track.
