Default M1 OW-40 Oil Analysis

I've attached the oil report that I received from Blackstone for my 2014 C2 (M1 OW-40). The car has ~4500 miles on it. The owner replaced the oil at 200 miles (because it had been a year since the car was produced). As a result, this is technically the break-in oil change analysis. A few of the metals appear to be elevated. Is there any reason to be concerned, or is this fairly common for a break-in change? The oil appears to have held up well.

Thanks

Those numbers are fairly similar to my oil analysis on the factory fill. With the exception that your mileage on the oil was significantly higher than mine (about 1300 miles ).

Fast forward to 20,000 miles, my wear metals are now 1/2 to 1/3 the levels you are seeing. Hopefully yours will continue to drop to those levels over the next few oil changes.

Viscosity still within spec. TBN 6.1 says the oil has plenty of life left in it. The presence of small amounts of wear metals is normal and unimportant during wear-in. This UOA proves that 5000 miles is too often to change oil.

Is your car only driven on road (not tracked)?

Correct, the car has not been tracked.

Nice. I love the roads up by Wabasha. I was going to suggest you run Mobil 5W50 but you should be fine with the 0W40. Especially for winter use.
