Pricing Help Needed ASAP
I found a beautiful Targa 4S with 7-sp manual that is equipped perfect for me. The car is a 2014 dealer demo with about 2.5K miles. They are offering it at $10k off MSRP which is a 7% discount. What are your thoughts on what a fair discount is for this car?
Thanks so much.

You should be getting a bigger discount for a car with 2500 miles. While waiting for STG to chime in have a look here to get a better idea of prices

Should be significantly more off. Targa's hold better than say my S but I bought my '14 used with 2600 miles on it and in service for one year exactly and it was a deal and a half at pretty much exactly 30K off sticker earlier this year in May. Yours should be 25K off minimum in my mind and probably more since we are at years end. It is pretty much a two model year old car. 10K off is ridiculous. Though if it is CPO that adds to the cost. My car was sitting at a BMW dealership so no CPO.

Thanks much for the replies thus far...you have confirmed what I thought. I'll be going over there later today to see if they will be realistic in their pricing.
Thanks Reuben991 for the link to STG's thread - very informative.

Sounds like you are emotionally sold on the car so my question to you is...how much are you willing to pay for that car? Forget what the dealer wants for the car. What you want to pay for it is more important. Because it is a Targa, I'd ask for $20k of MSRP with CPO or $18k off without CPO.

I think you can easily get 7% off a brand new (2016) Carrera or Carrera S. This is two model years old and used (possibly abused). Granted there are not many Targas around and it is certainly more a niche market.... And certainly one of the last NA. If it has all the options you like, there is an obvious premium you should be willing to pay due to the scarcity, but I think the consensus in here would be you can do better than that..

Pricing is a ripoff - negotiate hard for another $10k - $15k off, otherwise walk.

I got 9% off a new '0' miles s cab on the lot that had been there nearly a year, they 'punched' the warranty and threw in a CPO (worth $ 3,300) and 2 years maintenance (worth $ 2,200) as well. Your deal is not a very good one at all.
You would be better to NOT go over there, but call them on the phone with an firm offer - then let them call you back. They can't wear you down that way. Makes sure you get CPO as part of the deal (my suggestion). It's two model years old with miles on it - I'd say 15% to 20% off with CPO should be your offer. Good luck.

PorschePaul,
Bear in mind that all the feedback on this site has absolutely ZERO emotional attachment. You said the car, which can no longer be ordered, is perfect for you. Cut the best deal you can and go for it. A year from now you will regret not having done it more than you will possibly paying a premium.

That's ridiculous. I got 10% off my '14 Cayman S back in January and 22% off my '14 Carrera S in April, both brand new cars, not demos. On a demo '14, I'd want at least 15% off sticker.

Late to the party here. You guys are already on it. 7% is a good NEW discount, not one with 2.5K miles!
I'd pass, unless another 10K off!
How much is the original sticker?? 2014?? They giving a CPO warranty too? Sure hope so.
