Default New Appreciation for Porsche 911

I was in a pretty bad car accident with my 911 C2 a couple of weeks ago. I have attached a couple of pictures. Living in LA, you take your life into your own hands every time you get behind the wheel. I was hit by someone who turned left in front of me. The Porsche is a tank. My Mom - being a Mom - was concerned by the fact that the trunk is in the front and by the size of the 911 if I were to get in an accident. Well, Mom, the Porsche did quite well, thank you very much. The air bags likely saved the life of my puppy and myself. We suffered no burns or injuries from the air bags. The impact was pretty significant but the 911 was remarkably intact. Sure, there is $25k in damage to it - thank God I have a 2016 911 GTS with an NA engine waiting to be delivered from Stuttgart! - but it is one tough automobile and its safety technology worked beautifully. Further, having been in various lame-O rental cars the last two weeks, I appreciate even more the engineering that is Porsche. Every time I see a Porsche drive by, I long for my car. Today, as I walked my dog, I heard a 911 idling on a Beverly Hills side street. What a beautiful sound it is!

I am so blessed to have become a part of the Porsche family. I hope they have Porsches in heaven because it will be a long afterlife otherwise!

Hate to see and hear about such things, but glad you and the dog are OK. If you liked the C2, you are just gonna love the GTS!

Glad you are fine but that does not seem to be a very serious impact. 911s have survived far worse.
