Talking Newbie introduction

Hi guys! Been lurking on the forums for a while since I got my Panamera 4 in 2010, I recently traded in the Panamera for a 2012 Carrera S and since then my life feels more complete and full....I haven't felt this way since I received my first remote control car in the mid 80's....the Panamera was a great car but man the 911 is a whole different experience. I'm anxious to learn a lot more about my car from the members here, I've already found tons of useful tips playing with my Panamera and now the 911, but I have sooo many more questions about the 911 so I decided to join the forum now (I also recently joined 6speedonline under a different name).

Since I got the car, I added a few factory mods and did the GIAC ECU tune. The car was was loaded with options with the Carrera red interior, but I thought the interior was too red so I added some alcantara parts to it. Waiting for the warranty to expire to install performance mods.

Lastly, what is everyone's suggestions on which headers to buy?

Some pix of the car and the mods I added

Painted the wheels, couldn't get the color code for the Platinum Silver so picked a color that I thought was close to it but turned out a lot darkerr

GTS rear grille, black exhaust tip

black exhaust tip

LED side markers

Carrera red interior with Alcantara sport design steering wheel, shift lever and crested console lid

crested console lid

The Panamera 4 that I traded in for the 911

Welcome and congrats. I like the mods. Wheel color looks nice, and good move to break up the red a little bit.

Love the red interior!

What is that in the seat belt receptacle?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, really appreciate it

The thing in the seat belt receptacle is a dummy seat belt buckle..... I have no good reasons to have it I admit......when I enter and exit my parking garage I need to take off my seat belt to swipe a card and my bad habit is that I don't buckle up while inside my parking garage....that's my bad excuse for having it.

Did you notice much of a difference with the giac ecu tune?

Yes, I can most definitely feel the difference but not significant, very noticeable in high RPM tho. I didn't dyno, just took it out on an empty stretch of highway in the middle of the night, 100km~200km is so effortless compare to stock, from 200km~240 was a breeze and then I ran out of roads. It's by no means scientific, but that's what I observed, I've done the same run on the same stretch of highway numerous times when stock.
I'm waiting to put on my plenum, exhaust & headers, I've got the plenum and exhaust is on its way soon, still can't decide on headers. After all those are done I will want to dyno my car.

Welcome and congrats on the car! What exhaust did you decide on?

I've only seen one owner put headers on and he was on the other forum. There's a thread over there if you search for kline exhaust with some great photos of it.

Exhaust will be Akrapovic, indeed there seems to be more discussion about headers on the other forum...the post about Kline is great with all those pix!
