I think it's BS but from another perspective. How many owners use the launch control more than once or twice? So it's a worthless metric. What is far more important is how fast a car is from 30 MPH - 70 MPH, which is something that most of us do on a regular basis. Launch control is worthless in the real world. What is important for the street is access to lots of torque in the 2K - 5K RPM range.

I've never had too much of a problem with the power as long as you use appropriate throttle. The power is not as linear as the e92 m3 or 911s so you can't necessarily mash the pedal and expect no wheel spin, but it's lots of fun with a surge of power.
