Mine shows OIL OK then the dipstick looking thing is all the way to the top but the oil in the motor icon is all the way to the bottom. DO I pay attention to the dipstick part or the OIL ICON?
I take it to mean that the oil is full and icon is jus there for decoration

The green bars are all the way to the top? As long as they are green, you are OK. Yellow is caution, slightly overfilled. Red is bad, overfilled. Not sure what the warning is for low/underfilled.

Thanks Lexvan THe bars are all the way to the top and green. the icon shows a tiny oil in hte bottom of the pan. On the other side my son overfilled his BMW X5 4.8is and it was blowing smoke and has to stop at the dealer on the way to college.

Pictures worth many words.
This is a borrowed picture that popped up on the net.
This picture shows one block below full. The top one will light up when over filled.
The engine diagram never gets colored in.

This is getting very sad...is Ralph Nader now designing Porsche gauges? Think how unconfusing a dip stick was and would be again. The future is not worth the MSRP...not even with a discount.
