Default Question about front bumper Clear Bra installation

Hello.

I have had clear bra's installed on all my cars and all of them at the front bumper done in one sheet...meaning no seam.

I picked up my car today and noticed the seam and I was taken back a little.
My OCD kicked in.

For those of you that have a clear bra...can you let me know if you have a seam.

Thank you.

I don't have seams like that. And it looks like they did not wrap the film all the way up the lower facia?

What film did they use?

The installers put the film in a cutter/plotter that is computer driven from a template. For some reason, the template they used cut the film into pieces for your facia. No idea why, except that it obviously faster for the installer to place a number of small pieces versus fewer larger ones.

I would be less concerned about the seams than the fact that it looks like there is some portion of the facia that is not protected near the bottom of the main opening.

it appears to me like many of the seams and edges are very jagged and uneven. I also see lots of unprotected gaps. Does this installer have a solid reputation that you can verify? Seems like very shoddy work IMHO. Also, don't laser cut pattern kits have perfect edges? This looks hand cut/trimmed.

Dealer installed mine. Mine has seams but not not as many as yours. Installer cut around the air intakes so some areas are exposed.

Here are the "Typical clear bra patterns" cut by a plotter generated by a computer.

Which detailer did you use? I've been thinking to wrap the front of my C4S. And I think I should avoid this Chicago-area detailer. It does not seem to be a good wrapping job. You should let them fix it. It will eventually come out OK.

I had a really good look at mine when I washed it yesterday and was surprised of the lack of seams. There's a few "V's" notched out where bunching would take place wrapping around the air inlets but everything else was one piece.

Adding to your ammo. Mine matches the pattern above that is posted so I have a seam on either side down low (and it is a tight seam) but no gaps on the paint like you do. It should fully cover all the painted areas up into the intakes and center area. That looks like a complete redo to me. I am saying that and mine needs to be redone for other bad areas and dust under the film but my front is better than yours.

OP - There are various precut kits (computer generated kits) on the market, so the one you have is one of the more simpler ones. There are jagged edges and this generally indicates razor cuts (not to scare you), but if you have the film removed and reapplied, pay close attention to see if there are paint cuts underneath. We see this very often....and as a matter of fact, perform redos for customers unhappy with other company's work (on a weekly basis). Below are links to some of the examples:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...he-decade.html

Will post photos of the possibilities when done by a company with extensive experience.

Here are the possibilities. Note: the installation we perform is done with bulk sheets of material (not precut) that does take extensive skill / experience to master this craft. Just because a company does "custom" app, does not mean they can replicate these results.

Experience is the key and there are many companies / installers out there that does a "certification" course, which is only a 2-3 day course. Best thing to do is take a look at the installers work beforehand so that you know their workmanship is on par with your standards.
