I bet a talented bodyshop could get these widebody ones to fit. It's one thing going from skinnier to wider, but the opposite should be easier.

I wonder if I can find a shop that's willing to experiment

It's only the last 8-9" towards the rear wheels that the wide body flares out more. I think it's less than 1" per side. I'd have to check.

I'm going to investigate this option. I do like the factory ones better than the Japanese ones.

It's the front section that won't work...check it out, the lower fender is gone and actually replaced with the rocker.

Not sure why they charge so much more for the primered version? You can paint the cheaper ones too. But as noted, only for wide bodies.
