^^ Beat me to it.
I personally find it odd using the same engine for the Carrera and S models with only differences in HP and torque due to what I can only guess is differences in tuning and boost pressure?
So if one were so technologically and mechanically inclined, the base could be tuned to the power of the S and still be cheaper?? There really won't be much aside from obvious exterior and badge changes to significantly distinguish the two will there?

Tuning potential in the base model will likely be limited by higher compression ratio in that engine, therefore limiting the amount of boost you can run. That's how BMW does it with 320 and 328 engines being identical except for the Pistons that bump the compression ratio.

This is Porsche. They would never leave an easy loophole open. Tune a base to an S? Ha ha. Thanks for the info.

If you have to change open the engine and change the internals (pistons for example) to get the base model to S level of tune it probably wouldn't make sense economically. Might as well get the whole S package for about the same money spent....

Started my own thread but this probably belongs here!
That is the turbo six
And this is the T4.

Now they're saying 3.0 for both base and S.

Yes, never a 4cy like you said.

I hope your wrong because it sounds awful and I can't imagine it would sound that different then the 3.0

They both will sound bad.
