Sport+
With 3900 miles on the clock, tried Sport+ on my 15 Targa 4s PDK with Powerkit for the first time. I had been a bit nervous about doing so until I had some familiarity with the car. Damn, what a transformation from boulevard cruiser to monster! Intoxicating. Everything suddenly becomes very immediate and brutal. There is a massive rush of unyielding acceleration, punctuated by brief kicks in the pants when the PDK slams home a shift. Second gear can cause you to lose your license. The engine roar is intoxicating and my body struggled with g-forces at every change in momentum and direction. Must get some track time.

IMO how the car should behave all the time ... PDK in normal and even sport eschews everything above 2500 or 3500 rpm ... might as well be a minivan...

Agree that shift points in normal and sport are too low. RPM at launch with PDK is a particular problem. I don't really need the full on fury of LC at every stop, but tying to launch at 1200-1500 RPM - really!? Maybe a mini-LC function. Stoplights are the only time I miss MT.

Try Sport + with an MT. I took a physician colleague of mine on a short trip on I-10 and introduced him to The GTS and Sport+. He speaks about it frequently to this day. I think he is getting rid of his Prius.

I have 1800 miles on my Cayman S and only a few hundred on the Carrera S and I've yet to use Sport+ yet on either. Was just thinking about it driving the Cayman in today. Been driving it in manual mode primarily lately because the Sport mode shift points are a little low for my tastes.

This is officially the first car with an auto of any type that I need to use the paddles a good amount. The sport mode is not enough to me to keep the revs up and still not holding gears a little more if I need extra power to do something... so paddles it is or a kick down with the quick tap on the gas. I do need to try the sport + more I suppose but I don't need it to hold all the way to redline...it would have been nice if sport mode was more in between normal and sport +. Having a track oriented R8 and two other RS Audi cars in the garage I am finding with the responsiveness of the p-car left to its own mind it is certainly doing its best to save gas. I don't like to save gas.

I personally don't see the attraction to Sport+ in auto mode. Manual mode, yes, I like it. In auto mode, no. As Chris Harris succinctly said, "forget Sport+ auto, that is when the car forgets how to change gear".
So while Sport+ has much better throttle response, in the end, the car doesn't accelerate any faster……and people who use it on the street should keep one very important thing in mind that it dramatically lowers the threshold at which the PSM kicks in to help you out…..by which time a lesser driver may already be in the wall.
