Finally delivered!
I was a long time BMW & ///M owner (had all generation M3 except the current one). Recent years, I've got married with a beautiful daughter, traded sport cars to a few SUV (latest one is a Cayenne Turbo). But a 911 is always my ultimate goal!
I first saw this beautiful Sapphire Blue 911S from a member on another forum a year or so ago and thought to myself, this car is absolutely beautiful!! Hopefully I'll have one like that one day (besides a 911_50 edition). Fast forwards to a month ago, I started to seriously looking at a used 991 (S or 4S, doesn't matter) and found this Sapphire Blue online. Again, it was the color that drawn my attention.
My Cayenne is Black and although it's absolute beautiful when clean, it's just a pain to keep it clean & scratch free (damn super soft Porsche paint!). I don't want anything silver/grey, to blend in. White is my "last resort" only if I can't find a Sapphire Blue one.
I started to ask advices here from here and read more into the current pricing trend (HUGE THANKS to STG911's Hot-for-sale-pick-of-the-week thread and himself for all the advices!). I made an $96k offer on their $104,900 asking price and was accepted! I understand it isn't the best deal and could've save another couple grands or so on other cars or CPO'ed, but those aren't SB nor have the perfect options like this one. So a couple grands more for the one that I would've spec exactly the same is worth it IMO.
Oh, remember I've said I first saw a beautiful SB somewhere on the net before and love it so much? I started to think this car was the same SB one I felt in love with a year or so ago because some of the photos that the dealer posted was the exact photos that I saw before. I started to search & dig around, and finally found the thread that the original owner posted his photos! I contacted (stalked ) the original owner and confirmed in fact she IS the exact same car that I felt in love a year ago when I saw her on the forum!! It's almost like you saw a supermodel on TV and told yourself, man I wish one day I have a girl like that. And a couple years later, you are actually dating her!! And I found out from the original owner, he had already prepaid for all the schedule maintenance, wheels/tires protection, and full clear shield the whole front end! What a nice surprise!!

LandShark, I'm so happy this worked out for you. Great deal you accomplished and even greater car. Being on my first 911 (coming up on a year), it's great to hear these stories. Looking forward to hearing more about it. It's a beauty!
Coming off a few Cayenne's myself, I can relate. Loved my Basalt Black GTS, but boy what a full time job maintaining it!
Never have done BMW's though! A lot of guys here have.

Thank you guys. My daughter already asked me to take her to school and she's only 3 1/2 yrs old.
And I just need to find the time to give her a full detailing job (polishing + coating).
Quick question, is the factory 5mm spacer the way to go for the narrow body cars? I see most wide body owner opt for 7/11mm on theirs. But I'm afraid the wheels will stick out too much on the narrow body.

Very nice 991! Love the ducktail (sport design) and front end, unique 991. I had a 2006 C4s cab in Lapis Blue metallic w black interior. That color combo will always be my favorite! "Bruised" (black & blue) is what we called it. As for your spacer question, 7/15 mm is common but if you think you might go with wider (305 vs 295) rear tires in the future I would stay 5/5 mm which is what the factory recommends. Enjoy your beautiful 911 C2s.
