zip tie front license plate mount

zip tie front license plate mount
after tons of research, i think i like the zip tie idea the best.
i don't want to drill any hole, on of under the bumper...
and i worry the tow hook mount will damage the frame if i got into an accident,
or people just parallel park with bumper-car-style.
did anyone else use zip tie mount front plate on their 911?

On my 08 I used Velcro...worked great. My 14 going with no front plate for as long as I can get away with it. I have it under the seat if I need it. Wish the People's Republic of NY would go to just one plate. There really is no need for two. It is purely for electronic funds collection. It really has no other purpose. 31 states require 2 plates.

Where exactly were you thinking of "zip tying" it?

Personally, I'd rather get a ticket than drill a hole for a plate...
...that zip-tied front plate will never be totally secured and by moving around, will rub paint right off.
FWIW, the newer Corvettes just use double-sided tape and seems to work fine.

With one of my Audis with a similar nose to the 911 I could get behind the filler in the front bumper and glued high powered magnets to the back side of the panel in the bumper then two more glued to the back of a front license plate frame/mount that would have been the same mount that was screwed to the front bumper of the car. worked very well...even at 90mph when I forgot I left it on. Just put it on when I parked. I added some felt to the back of the mount to protect the paint.

just inspect the front bumper, there is no mesh in there that i could use for ziptie!!!
the tape and the magnet idea sounds interesting, i need to think about that...
i also has the front bumper wrapped, so glue probably is a bad idea....

I found this by a quick search for someone doing the same as I was mentioning for a Porsche though for a 997 but same idea. The magnets work great though. I have had this on my old Audi TT for a decade and the magnets are strong enough easily when you forget to pull the tag off. Unfortunately it probably takes the same full bumper removal but to me anyway it is worth it for the best clean no damage way to do it that is super easy daily to slap the plate on when needed.

I'm sure I'm jinxing myself, but…I've been driving without a front plate on my cars for most of the last 20 years and have never been ticketed. It would take a number of tickets before I'd even consider putting a plate on my car.

Mmaturo just looked at that link and seems like a hell of a lot of work to do. Again if I decide to put a plate on my current Pcar it will be Velcro again for me. It's amazing how well it holds. And when you have to remove the Velcro, goop off of similar product works great on the adhesive.
