Default Engine control malfunction

so 4/14 I got the warning twice. Both times it came back as 5/6 misfire. Fast forward to this week. It happened again with the same diagnosis.

Car is now at dealership. They're talking to Germany since this fault has never been recorded by any Porsche dealership.

Anyone ever hear of this or an idea?

Bad plug wire or coil packs? Total WAG.

Not following you. Why not?

Heck, I guess it could even be a loose plug, not torqued properly??

Surprised the dealership is so stumped, and needs to talk to Germany. Weird.

They are slaves to their diagnostic hardware. If HAL doesn't come right out and tell them to replace the AE35 unit on the starboard flux generator, the dealer is typically clueless. All the smart geeks are working for Google or Apple these days, not turning wrenches at a dealership.

It's still there, looks like more discussions with Germany next week. In the meantime, they gave me a Panamera Hybrid to drive. Interesting.

Earlier in the month I had the same error. It came on right after starting the car (engine still warm). Drove home and parked the car in the garage. Next morning same error again.

I was still burning through my winter tank of gas with stabilizer and had a 1/2 tank left. Filled up the car (93) and error immediately went away.

Hope they get it sorted before too much longer.

You should at least feel lucky you're getting an error code. Those of us with problems that aren't throwing a code (stumble) are very jealous.

I just had mine in the shop and also had the panamera hybrid as a loaner. My god that car was awful. It reminded me of a crown Vic in but wasn't particularly comfortable.

At least I have my truck to drive. And it's more comfortable!

Sheesh, Panamera and Crown Vic? Grunty, aren't you being too harsh to Panamera?

All Panamera-owners I know have attested that Panamera is the best sporty sedan that exists, better than any of BMW M's and Mercedes AMG's. Of course, Panamera won't feel as sporty as 911 or Cayman. It's still a sedan. Yet the sportiest sedan, nonetheless.

Got it back today. Codes were P305/P306. Reprogrammed the ECU. Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't come back.

Not to hijack this thread, but I too used to think that the Panamera was a pig.

BUT, just returned from a vacation in Germany/ Switzerland and our rental was a new Panamera GTS. I had a blast with this pig!! Very comfortable and stable at 150mph, but still a blast on the twisties with all sport settings activated.

A V8 with PSE is an awesome sound!!
