The adhesive is harder to work with and it's harder to wrap and form around curves, etc.. I've talked to a lot of top PPF installers, and they like SunTek. Some installers are really loyal to one brand. The key is having a good installer. A bad one can fuc* up your car no matter what film is used.

and I am going to wish I had known this a day ago. too late for me. Was not an issue on my Audi's. Hoping that is not what I am seeing in the film on one of my headlights. Just got the car back a few hours ago.

Having had my headlights wrapped (which subsequently delaminated), I would not recommend it. I have had Todd at esoteric paint correct and XPEL the front half of my car as well as doors. He indeed does phenomenal work. The headlights had been previously wrapped but the wrap was failing and esoteric removed it. They do NOT recommend applying protection film to the headlights and Porsche has stated to some dealers to not wrap the headlights. There is a protective coating on the lights that delaminates. I am fairly certain this is due to the fact that in order to get the film to fit the 3D shape of the housing, it needs to be heated and stretched. I think this places lateral tension on the coating over the housing that causes it to strip off.
I had to have insurance replace the headlights. Porsche would not cover it for me. I called my dealer as well as PCNA. No dice. Don't wrap your headlights.
Todd is good folk. Your car will never look as perfect as when it leaves their shop. I have a black car so it's very paint sensitive.

I had my headlights wrapped with Xpel. The installer did a fantastic job. Not a problem in the last four months. I agree part of the solution for a flawless job is the material and most importantly, the skill of the installer and the prep work.

The headlight delamination issue isn't a risk until the film has to be removed for a replacement which will happen at some point.
The headlights have a factory UV clear coat on them. That finish many times comes up in spots when removing the film. They are shot after that.

Black PDLS conversion kit (OEM) from suncoast -- both front lights (not including the $150 xenon light bulbs) and both front black turn signal lights (above the air intakes)
$2695 from suncoastparts.com
Nonblack PDLS headlight units
$1550 each (not including the front LED turn signal lights)
My XPEL has no orange peel effect whatsoever on my 911. My m3 on the other hand, shows a tad of orange peel effect, but the paint was like that underneath the film....
