Default Base Radio Function

I had a 2013 991. I could turn off the radio by merely pressing the left button on The PCM. On my 2015 991 GTS the left button is not compressible. Moreover, the manuals do not provide instructions for turning the radio off or on. Can anyone tell me how to turn the base radio in my 2015 991 GTS OFF? I can turn it down but not off. In the 2013, the left compressible button would turn off the radio and the screen. Not so on the 2015. Any help would be appreciated.

That's interesting. I have a 2013 and that same button if pushed and released also acts as a mute button.

Yep left button pushes in slightly with a slight click. I am guessing yours is broken.

I finally concluded that I must be the only one in the world that wouldn't want their radio on all the time. At any rate, after searching through all 97,512 pages of the owner's manuals and pushing every button on the panel several hundred times my latest conclusion is you have two choices, both of which I am presently considering: 1) drive a pick axe through the center of the instrument panel (and thereby hopefully disabling some of the other annoying "features", or 2) Use Porsche's special bulk air freight deal to send the car back to the factory to have the radio shut off. I certainly will appreciate it if anyone has inadvertently stumbled across still another option

i have the same issue on my car too.

the left button is just a mute button.. there is no way to turn OFF the system.
And once you restart the car, the mute function is gone, and you have to press it again.

Many times I paired with my iphone for music, if I turn off and restart the car, it is back to Radio mode.
I think it should be back to bluetooth mode unless the user change it back to radio...

Put on aux as input mode with nothing attached. The car will start each morning in silence.

Press and hold the left button for more than a couple of seconds. Radio and PCM turn off. They do not come back on when you restart the car. If you don't press long enough the radio goes to mute instead of off.

Thanks to n2cars. Of course I only tried for about 6 months. I understand that Porsche plans to offer a rotate CCW to off as a $2800 option on the next 911 model. If you ever figure out how to disable the hill holder please let us know. Thanks again.
