Default Comment on my car's trade value?

I'm thinking of going over to the dark side and buying an F-car ... we are negotiating and I may trade my 2012 Carrera cabriolet, it's white over red full leather, PDK, Sport Chrono, just turned 15k miles, I'm the second owner, clean Carfax, car's in nice condition, still under factory warranty and also CPO'd (not that it matters on a trade). Original sticker was about $107k if I remember correctly.

What do you guys think a reasonable "real money" trade value on it would be? I have lost touch with the 911 market over the last couple years.

Hmmmmmm ... all over the map. Friend in the car biz (wholesaler who does a fair amount of high end business) thinks it's a mid-60s car in real money, i.e., not padded higher against an inflated retail car that its being traded for.

If you have a pal in the biz, ask him to pull up the latest Manheim auction prices for 2012 Cabs. That's going to be your trade value.

You are correct. I'd have it at $62-65K

He was looking at auction values and talking to another buddy that does some high end wholesale cars here on the East Coast.

On the plus side, just got a quote from my insurance, my premium rocketed up a whole $16 a year.

Insurance on my '15 Targa 4S is less(!) than on my daughter's Kia minivan, despite costing almost 6x as much.

So what did the F-car dealership offer? You must know at this point if you're negotiating.

As a private party sale or trade?

That was fast. You posted this after 8:00 PM yesterday. Good job.
