Love the red interior. Bought my Targa 4s with agate over agate. I don't like the black interior with agate. The effect is too somber and the colors are too similar without matching. Black carpeting looks dirty quite quickly. The red interior is a great color and would be a good choice for a bolder look. The espresso/cognac natural leather is gorgeous and lightens up the interior significantly. I like darker colors on 911s. Reflections off the dark surface highlight the lines of the car while hiding some of the bulk. My dealer has body panel paint samples and leather swatches, so you can go in and hold them side by side to see how they work together in real life.

Smile End of Story

Well, I just got home from 2 days at Barber Motorsports Park, attending the the
Porsche Sport Driving School. It gave me plenty of time to look at everything leather, Alcantara, and all the colors. I decided I liked the GTS Interior after all, and even the Guards Red too No CR was there but there was a blood red AC Bristol in the museum that had me palpitating. I also decided that of all the cars I drove: Boxster, Cayman, 991, and Panny, I liked the 981 the best! It was a total kick in the pants on the track. On the plane trip home I started thinking about a CR Cayman GTS with the GTS Interior, CPO, with 4000 miles down at the dealer, (who ever buys one of these cars and sells it 4000 mile later is beyond me). So, I did the deal, I'm happy, the car is stunning, and more than enough power for the street. It feels like a sports car too, more so than the GT feeling you get with the 991. Anyway, thanks for all the input. I guess I'll be spending time on another forum.

My 2021 Targa is Carrera white - extra $900- for some metallic that is so fine you can hardly ever see the flakes except in the brightest sunlight at the perfect angle. I would just order the white. The 12 o’clock red or yellow band on the steering wheel is a $300 option on most models. I added it to my GT4 on order.

my current pet peeve is the black rims- in my opinion this looks unfinished and the fade is fading so my salesman tell me. The Aurum or silver rims help the car pop visually. Black wheels make the car look dated even though I know there are guys that like the look - mostly younger fellows.

I opted for the dipped or all Bordeaux red interior on my 2021 Targa 4 and I am very happy I did not weaken and get red and black two tone. Much rarer to find all Bordeaux red interior - and on my Targa Bordeaux red top.

in a survey the most popular colors were blue for porsche vehicles. And the new shark blue should be in demand on the used car market. My 2022 GT4 and a 2022 Boxster GTS are both shark blue. Miami blue was too baby blue, and the other blues are too dark - shark blue will look great I hope. Both cars arriving in late October and early November.

Glad to see that someone else thinks the 18 way seats are over the top. I'm shying away from the GTS Interior on this basis alone, although it does define what the package is all about. It is also hard to pass up all that deviated stitching too, but you do get a lot back with Black/Garnet Red. What did you do with your gauges in your interior? Did you leave them black, or deviate them?

There's a 997.2 GT3 for sale with 19K miles down at the dealer. Someone tried to clean up the Alcantara wheel. It looks like a **** carpet and would need to be replaced. The rest of the Alcantara looks OK though.

Enjoy your car in good health.
Alcantra steering wheels are best cleaned using a very diluted solution of water and Dawn dishwashing liquid and a high quality microfiber towel. You don't rub hard (very lightly) and you must let the cleaning agent do its job. Then you rinse with a clean microfiber towel using fresh clean water. You then dry it with another clean mircrofiber towel (preferably one that is designed to be used to dry things, think waffle towel) you press and squeeze to absorb the water...do not rub.

It's not surprising so many people complain about the Alcantara steering wheels because most don't even take the time to "properly" clean and condition their leather steering wheels. That's why you see very shiny leather on most car steering wheels, that's oil from their hands that have clogged the pours of the leather.
