Discount on new 2014 Turbo
#2
I remember shopping for Boxster S back in early 2005. The 987 had just come out and I wanted to see what could be done with a new 2004 986S. We danced awhile and I remember getting down to the 12-13% range, and that was with a now-obsolete model, not just an obsolete year within the model range.
But regardless, it's probably a great candidate for getting the best deal you can possibly get on a new 991 Turbo!

I got exactly $20k off (16%) my new 2014 C2S last November. Dealer wanted it gone as 2015's were on the lot.
The right dealer will go there. I'm sure the remaining 2014's have plenty of 'trunk money' from the factory to the dealer to move them.

Wonder why the dealer was willing to go so low on the car. Makes you wonder. The hold back dealer incentives are definitely not that high that it would cover 20% off.

Regardless, the deals are out there, it just takes work to find a dealer with the right set of variables.

Dealers get extra incentive money to move prior model year units. Also, in my particular case, the dealer I purchased from got my car from another dealer as a swap involving several cars. One of those cars was a Turbo S that that my dealer had, and the other dealer had a buyer for. They agreed to the swap, but my dealer got some back end money in the process, lowering their net on my particular car.
