To Tint or Not

I don't care for the look of the tinted windows, but if I lived in South Florida or Texas and my car was out in the sun a lot, I might tint the windows to help with the solar heat load.

I like the looks of the windows tinted, plus this will help reduce the heat inside. Am looking at what % I can get away with in cali and not have the officers take to much notice.

The window glass stops most of the UV rays. The tint does little more for UV, but does help with the heat. Ever wonder why you don't get a sunburn while riding in your car, assuming the windows are up? Also, if you wear prescription glasses with Transitions lenses, you will notice that they do not tint much at all. This is because the window glass stops most of the UV rays. Step out of your car and they tint almost immediately.

I think you are the one that needs to do the research. Your tint might block 90% of the 5% or so of UV that actually penetrates your glass. The point is, very few UV rays, especially UVB, make it though the laminated window glass.

No. It will look like a minivan compromise.
Don't be a *****. Read this thread again. Tint all 5 windows or don't bother.
Sorry - too many jellybeans...
