Default Help! 991 C2S wont start!

MY 2013 7200 kms on the clock.

Pulled it out the garage and parked outside. 5 minutes later the car does not start. The motor was turning but no firing up after 6 attempts. No warnings on dash. Called the Porsche on call technician. When he arrived an hour later the car suddenly fired up. Murphy's law. Drove to the dealership who ran diagnostics and were baffled. I'm totally non technical and clueless. What could have gone wrong? I'm worried I may be stranded somewhere if it happens again.

A number of users have had this happen.
Usually it started up again after about 30 minutes with no error codes logged what so ever.
I believe some had a spacer installed to adjust the CPS while others had it (CPS) replaced.
Porsche definitely knows about this problem.

From an owners invoice...

'Needed spacer on crankshaft per bulletin WM 2873NO' , and the work was to install a Spacing Washer (part 991-606-912-00) and involved pulling the rear cover, rear support plate, and crankshaft position sensor.

In two years of ownership this has happened to me on three different occasions. Haven't taken it in, but am amazed Porsche hasn't issued a recall.

7MT or PDK? I had this happen a few times on my '13 C2S 7MT. Engine turns over a few times but never fires up. Always started up after letting it sit for a bit. Brought it in to the dealer. They kept it for two days and ran a bunch of diagnostic checks, but it didn't throw off any codes. Tech speculated it was a clutch sensor. I was always nervous in the back of my mind whenever I started up the car that it shouldn't flake out on me again. Good luck getting the issue resolved!

Not gonna happen.. Deny, deny, ignore, ignore, and hope it goes away.
That approach has served them well thus far.

This has been discussed in another forum.
Some people had the entire sensor replaced.

Is this "bulletin" applicable anywhere worldwide as I'm based in South Africa. Should I specifically mention it to the service advisor?

This is definitely a recall type issue.

No one. Never needed to deal with anyone as there have been no issues.
