Default Thoughts: 997 GTS logo on 991 GTS

Hi guys;

I am not a huge fan of all the advertising happening on the rear end of the 991 GTS. I like the clean look of the 997 GTS seen here:

I am thinking of removing everything on my 991 GTS and buying the 997 "Carrera GTS" emblem as it is slightly larger than the 991 GTS emblem.
From suncoastparts.com (http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...=9972gtsxemblm

Note: I am not 100% sure that the 997 emblem is larger than the 991; can anyone verify this?

Thanks for the advice.

I'm pretty sure it's bigger. What I would do is keep the PORSCHE logo. Remove the 911 Carrera GTS logo. Buy the same size GTS logo from Sumcoast and place it under the Porsche logo a la GT3.

Not quite sure if it is the same size or not,....I have the 991 "GTS" emblem on my desk right now. I ordered my car SANs model designation and plan to just center the "GTS" below the Porsche on the back to match the door decals.

Just looking at the picture above and the emblem I have, it would indeed appear that the 997 GTS script is a bit bigger and of a slightly different script,....close but not exactly the same. My 991 GTS emblem measures 20mm high by 110mm long, so maybe someone with a 997 GTS can measure theirs.

Good luck....

You also have to take into consideration that deleting the GTS logo option moves the PORSCHE logo down so it's more centered. You may want to adjust for that.

Search: SM_ATL's Carrera S journal on s i x
speed online' site.

I believe his current config. is the 997 "Carrera S" emblem on the rear of his white 991. It looks great but the way. Yes, it's slightly larger in size than the 991 script for all 991's.

If I was going to do a 991 GTS I think I'd leave the P O R S C H E on the rear and just do a clean "GTS" logo below it.

To each their own though. That's what makes us human. A few guys like the wide open real estate back there on the 991 with the PORSCHE logo removed. It's a larger area than the 997.

Here's what I'd do If I had a GTS.

Here are good pictures of what the 991 GT3 guys have done with the larger 997 GT3 badge:

Yep, just what I'm doing. Have the emblem on order from Suncoast. Didn't know they re-centered the PORSCHE logo on the delete option though. Oh well, I'm sure it will work out.

I don't believe so (or it is very, very slight). I ordered my past 991 CS sans model designation and the "Porsche" was in the same place as cars that had the model designation.

If I get the logo, would a dealer debage it for me and place the new GTS logo? I'm worried I might mess up either the paint work or centering it correctly.

It's slight but it definitely moves down. Check out the pictures from the configurator. Not a big deal
