Hi guys- currently looking at a car that meets most my requirements- CPO, PDK, Sports Chrono, PSE, and Burmester. It doesn't have premium package so no heated seats, dynamic lights, or dimming mirrors. I don't care about the dynamic lights, the dimming mirrors on my last car didn't seem to make a difference with being blinded by cars, and I think the heating function can be retrofitted or figured out after market if I really miss it.

However this car also has PCCB.. I'm wondering how worried I should be on a car with 35k miles, and I'm not local in Chicago to visit the car. My miles are only highway commuting and canyon runs, so I wonder if i'll have any issues for the 100k miles i'll own the car. Any thoughts?

Mountain roads are a win in the spring - fall. I'm not there in the winter on purpose. Yes some of the best roads I've ever been on.

Have them inspected. If there isn't excessive wear or track use, I wouldn't be afraid of them. I loved my PCCBs and specc'ed them on my next car.

Default Carmax Houston 911 C2S

Has anyone laid their eyeballs on this one, at Houston Carmax? It's come up and gone on hold a couple of times, then come back again. I just put it on hold myself. Not a screaming deal, but ticks the basic boxes and appears in nice shape.

Year and Model: 2014 911 C2S
Ask: $75,998
MSRP $117,430
Miles 22,000
VIN # WP0AB2A93ES122743

I'd appreciate any insight.

Thank you.

A few things going for it, a few things missing. Bottom line will come down to condition. If it's in superb condition and a color combo you like, go for it. If not, pass.

The key 991.1 config I typically look for:
  • Coupe [check]
  • S [check]
  • Nice color combo [check]
  • If it has PDK, it must have sport chrono and sport design wheel with paddles. The SD wheel with paddles can be added ($1K+), sport chron can not. [check]
  • Sport exhaust [missing]
  • SPASM, or PDCC w/ Spasm [missing]
  • Full Leather [missing]
  • 18 way buckets [missing]
  • Sport design ducktail or aero-kit (pretty uncommon) [missing]

Totally agree.

Frame of reference: I recently paid $80k for a flawless CPO 2013 C2S with all of the above, except PDCC (has SPASM) and PSE. 8k miles. One owner. I’ll add exhaust for $3k or so. I would have loved PSE, but exhaust is easy. Other items, like leather and SC are must haves.

Bottom line: the car’s condition was too good to pass even though it wasn’t the perfect build.

Thanks guys.

I agree with many of your must haves, though given Michigan roads I don't want S-PASM, full leather is not on my list, and aero kit is a no go for me.

No doubt finding the right car to buy is a combination of spec, price, condition, and patience.

Jeff, how did you find yours?

When you guys are doing searches, make sure to not miss 2012's. It's unfortunate, but there was an overlap with 997.2's (2012) and 991.1's (2012.5) the year. Hope Porsche never pulls that again.

Also, the 4S did not come out until 2013. Same with the X51 Powerkit, Sport Design and Aerokit Cup packages.

The GTS was 2015 and 2016 only.

Targa 2014-2016.

One car I underestimated at the time. The 50th Anniversary model in 2014. With numbered cars and only 1963 made worldwide.

X51 rear drive on a widebody and cosmetics like Pepita fabric and unique exterior colors. They hold their vales very well.

Right optioned ones especially with Manual or PDK (if your preference), Pepita, no sunroof, and SPASM are keepers.

$87,993.00 with 18K miles and a $106K MSRP?

'Very $$' and 'Very Blue'

Not what I would call a "worry free price"

This car is soooooo overpriced. Especially with 18K miles, no SC, PSE, and that color combo. It's a stripper build really.

I would have expected like low $70's really.

Appreciate the post really, but someone here might like it. They beat me up if I don't deliver a $30K discount at least. They're tough on me too. Sometimes the HFS posse is too demanding!!
