I'm certainly not a metallurgist, but I do work for a small aerospace/defense machined parts manufacturer. It would seem that any of the Inconel alloys would be significantly heavier than the usual grade of Titanium utilized in the better aftermarket exhausts. Inconel is extremely hard, and handles both heat and corrosion resistence quite a bit better than 304 stainless, due to higher levels of Nickel and Chromium. So, I'm guessing the value of using Inconel in an exhaust system is that a thinner gauge of metal is possible, while having excellent heat and corrosion resistence. Both Titanium and Inconel are a lot more expensive than 304 stainless. Somebody here must know a lot more about this stuff than I do, so please chime in.

I'll weigh both systems when I receive the new one. I know because of the use of Iconel they are able to go thinner. Let's see when it arrives.

I received it about 8 days ago. Looks great. I am traveling for business till mid March mostly out of the country. I'm hoping when I get back the weather will have changed enough that I can uncover the car and get this bad boy on. So I'm a couple weeks away from being ready to post clips.

Did you have a chance to weigh the new and old systems? Inquiring minds want to know
