I had a difficult time getting my low profile jack and jackstand disc under my C4S. The solution was to roll the wheel of interest over two small pieces of stacked plywood. It elevated the car enough for clearance. Pretty cheap too.
I think they are concerned with frame twist and bringing up both sides equally to alleviate any chance of twist or something possibly slipping
Exactly. Just don't open either door when one side is jacked up or you will visually see the car twist a bit when you do. I always use two jacks to take them up...a little on that side - then a little on the other side...and go back and forth.
There is really no issue with jacking one side up at a time. People have been doing it for a very long time without issues. You're not going to damage the chassis.
What am I missing here? Why do some of you guys feel a need to use two jacks? I lift one side, then put the jackstand under the car. Then I remove the jack and lift the other side and put another jackstand under the car. What is the issue here? DaveGee

STG, I've also been looking for jacks and reading up -this is the exact same jack under a different brand for 30 bucks less and free shipping. shipping otherwise was another $50+ bucks, so this saves ya $80 bucks..
Any shopping or vendor tips? What should I expect to pay for jack stands and a decent quality floor jack? Car is pretty low, a '16 GTS. Thanks.

I also have a 16 GTS. you need a low profile jack with a min height around 3.5" -this is the jack that STG was looking at (above) that I just bought (branded differently). http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performan...2/-1#reviewTab quite a few guys in other threads and the GT3 forum seem to like it. the jack is $200 and Jack Point stands are another $300 and are backordered a couple weeks right now. Watch the video on the jackpoint website for explanation. awesome product.
