Another plus for Rennline wire mesh grilles
I put in Rennline wire mesh grilles to protect my 991's radiators on the track and highway. I knew they would be leaf collectors, but who knew they would also trap tons of discarded cigarettes? Bonus!
Anyone want a road-flavored Parliament butt?

I think this is a difficult one, because I can see the "protection" part, but by putting the screens on, I think it just becomes monumentally harder to get stuff out of there like bug carcasses and leaf debris.

Having had a Boxster for 14 years I hated it when people would flick out their cigarette butts in front of me. While engine fire from cigarette buts going in the side inlet was a rare possibility I did not want to be that unfortunate driver.

Actually had my shop do it--had them installed after having the car for only a month or so. About 2 hours of labor. Requires removing the front fascia and installing from behind.
Definitely would be the case if the mesh pattern were larger, but it's small enough that nothing of substance gets past into the radiators. And it's nice to know there's a layer of protection from rocks and hard chunks of rubber slapping the nose of the car at 130mph. Hole in the radiator=day is done.

Those radiators or condensers do seem awfully exposed. Has anyone had them damaged with routine, non track, driving?

There's a DIY on here or 6speedonline that shows how to do this relatively cheaply using sheets of mesh that you cut to size using a template, and then inserting and securing them from the front/outside without removing the fascia.
