Default Pricing a 911 GTS...

Hello;

Getting interested in a GTS after reading some reviews. Popped over a local dealer to option one out. Total package was around 129K w/ 6K off. Does that sound like a reasonable deal?

Cheers

5% ... pretty std discount ... esp since this is a new model and year so they are not incented to discount further

Thanks for the reply. Dealer also mentioned that if I wanted to do the European Delivery option that he would have to charge me an extra 3K. Which to me is counterintuitive since BMW gives a nice discount for their ED.

Well, that's just BS. Porsche does not provide a discount like BMW (and MB and Audi), but they don't charge anything additional either. Some dealers may require a fully refundable VAT deposit, but there is NO upcharge.

Time to find a reputable dealer.

Ya I thought something was off. The dealer told me that Porsche charges them 3K for customers that do the ED. Which, of course, the dealer is charging ME the 3K. Never heard of this practice before. Emailing dealers now to find best deal......

You're getting screwed! That's only. 4.65% off MSRP. There's a guy here who says everyone gets 5% off. Make sure you get your $451.50 back.

You were told the correct information. We ARE charged $3000 for ED which is why most dealers do not offer discounts off MSRP on cars that are getting Euro delivery.

Brett, I don't think most of us knew that. Good info.

But each dealer is different (as you know). I got a 6% discount on my GTS with or without ED. I chose not to do ED only because I got a mid-winter allocation.

+1 Porsche used to charge the customer for ED (e.g back on 07 when I did ED on my GT3) but as of now they charge the dealer this sum, *but* the dealer I believe gets and additional allocation as a result.

They can choose to pass this on, but in this case I would simply walk.

*and* Porsche do ask the customer to escrow the VAT while the car is in Europe, not sure if this also applies to PFS lease or not ...
