I painted my C4S side skirts after delivery, now it gives the impression to sit lower and wider. Looks more finished too IMO.

Can you please post a few side pictures.? I've seen your car, and it looks great.

Thanks STG!

On my order I did paint the side, but left the back black. The way I look at it, the front lip is painted. I wanted that to flow around the car, so I painted the sides. It continues to the rear until you get to the pipes. I then left the back black so it would go with the black engine cover, glass roof, and black strip connecting the lights.

If the front lip was black like the GT3, I would have left the skirts in black.

Here are some pics from the Configurator:

A bunch of personal preferences here.

In general, I like the monotone look and would paint everything. However, the GTS style is all the black trim, so on that model, I would - and did - leave the trim in black with one exception, and that's the side skirts. Although the black side skirts may look good in Porsche's pics, I think that they get lost in real life. By painting the skirts, the car is visually lowered and looks much better imo. My $0.02.

I'm painting my side skirts and the rear fascia too (I think the black exhaust tips get lost otherwise)

I passed on painting the air vent slats on the front though...

I see what you mean about the black skirts getting lost. In the picture, the painted skirts look better to me. I will change my configuration to add that, and will be painted all around. Thanks to all for helping with the decision.

+1 actually I prefer the black front lip on GT3 to the painted one on the GTS, apart from anything else its more practical if you scratch it you buy a new one!

^^No Larry, I like the black contrast on the front vents, rear balance and mirrors.
I'll post a few more later.

I agree about the front vents, for the GTS because it has black/anodized tips I am painting my rear fascia so that they are not lost ... I might choose differently if I had silver tips like yours ... and of course the SD mirrors are all body color.

your car is stunning BTW... love the platinum/satin wheels ... perfect

Below is my build. The only other item I gave some thought to is the center-lock wheels; they should be lighter and are slightly wider (at least in front). But, given all the negatives, I'm staying away from them. I'm still interested in any feedback on things a newbie may have overlooked, or should consider. Thanks.

DK Agate grey leather interior

Some things I noticed:

1) Did you want the center console in leather and not carbon?

2) Do you not like the Sport Design Mirrors? I have read that some people with the standard mirrors experienced some buffeting problems. I have no clue if there is any truth to this claim, but it was enough for me to stay away from the folding mirrors. Besides the SD mirrors look cool.

3) If you stick with the standard mirrors, you may want to consider painting the lower portion of them.

4) Some people like the clean look or no rear wiper. Just something to consider.

Just some ideas.
