The tinted film will tone them down quite a bit. Painting them would be ideal (at least for me). Whatever suits you.

Thanks for the pics and your car looks superb. My 80 928 is up at the painters now for front bumper cover repair & paint (hit a small deer last week) and will ask him about painting them. Looking at yours, seems to be the way to go. OP, sorry for taking over your thread a little, but all does seem pertinent
