I do have a question regarding your C2S. I currently own a 981S, but formerly owned a 997S. Moreover, I have driven my brother's 2014 991 C2s on many occasions. I have never experienced the conditions you describe in either my 997S or in my brother's 991S or if they do exist, I'm not perceptive enough to have noticed them.
So bottom line, did the SA ever acknowledge the problem you describe or did they just dismiss it as being normal?

The bottom line is even if the manufacturer issued a bulletin for this concern your probably looking at less than a 1% failure rate. So not all 991's will be affected.

I'm sure if the retailer was able to confirm issue in your car and compare to another car in the showroom not experiencing the issue then I would be asking for a new PDK under warranty at that point. Just my .02 cents. But that would have changed the outcome you probably would still have C2S and jumped to the GT3 RS. Actually what I'm planning to do but I may keep the c2s long term as my dd and GT3 RS as a weekend ride.
My car had a 7MT, and I assure you this was a real issue. The service departments want to help, but this issue is not throwing any codes. If you have it, you'll know it. During a test drive you are going to have a hard time replicating it.

You would think this is very simple. Go to the dealer, replicate the problem, and get it fixed. This problem however is not that simple. Some guys have been to the dealer a dozen times. I decided I wasn't interested in doing that.

If you don't have or notice it, I would avoid searching for it. Ignorance is bliss.

Thanks for the write up and pictures. Nicely done.
The color of your GT3 is gorgeous--I need one at some point before I get too old. Will your wife speak with mine?

That would not go well. My wife is not on our side. I just beat her into submission.

Whatever works. I'll need a couple years to soften my wonderful wife up. Maybe after she's back in a new M-B.

Luckily for me, my wife doesn't quantify my ridiculous wants with her basic needs. For instance, she wanted me to get rid of the fancy HE washer and dryer I bought in favor of an old fashion hidious, earth killing version that actually works. So GT3 for me $1,500 washer and dryer for her. I think I dodged a bullet on that trade-off.

Its a great write-up and the GT3 is an epic car.

What caught my attention was how you can't use the car as a daily driver anymore due to its 'bling' factor. I will be curious in the next few months how you feel about that! I only ask, because I use my 991s as a daily driver .... train station during the week and kids sports on weekends. So the backseat is critical and being able to blend in at a train station is also important.

But, when I hit the track I do watch and drool over the GT3s ... such amazing cars. Maybe I can justify two Porsches in my future ....
