Why do people say that the 911 is a better DD than the Cayman?
I'm currently in the market for a DD car, ~30-40 miles per day. Reading through a lot of past threads, I keep hearing that the 991 is a better DD than the 981. Money isn't the biggest issue for me, but if I can get around the same performance in a Cayman S, why spend that much more on a 991?
In terms of comfort, I thought that there shouldn't be a huge difference with PASM. Storage space is actually bigger in the Cayman, and the rear seats in the 991 can't really sit adults anyway. What am I missing that makes the 991 that much better?

Three Wheelin'
I think that the concern is that the shorter wheelbase and lower center of gravity of the Cayman gives a less forgiving ride than the 911 (but maybe better handling).

Unless you are single and live in a apartment 911 or Cayman needs to be supplemented by more utilitarian car like Honda Pilot.
with two kids there's no way I could get by with a two seater.
Wife got a Honda.
For many of us Porsche = 911.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't see how this is a troll post? Aside from the power difference (except the Cayman S/GTS will be just about as powerful as a base Carerra and still cost less), I just haven't heard a good enough reason to spend the extra money. I'm single and young, live in an apartment, and didn't grow up with a 911 poster on my wall, so the "image" or "heritage" of a 911 isn't as important to me.

The 991 has more sophisticated rear suspension and chassis hardware than the 981, expertly engineered and refined over multiple decades to keep the car from killing its owner before he makes his first payment.
The 991 has more storage space than the Cayman, thanks to its vestigial rear seats. Its instrument panel is quite a bit nicer (IMHO), with five gauges instead of only three. And of course, there's the additional power with the 3.8L engine that Porsche won't sell you if you buy a Boxster or Cayman.
Other than that, it's pretty much the same darned car. Both the 981 and 991 cars are among the best daily drivers available from any manufacturer. Can't go wrong with either... but the days when a 98x owner needs to second-guess himself or herself every time a 911 goes by are decisively gone.

Is your 401K/Roth 401K maxed out to $17,500? If not, don't buy any Porsches until then.
Are you also saving an additional $5,500 in a self directed after tax IRA Account? If not, don't buy either.
Pay yourself first. Get out of debt. Buy a house. Then go buy toys.

Comfort, more room, storage space, less cabin noise.
Most mid engine cars do not make for good daily drivers.
