I know that you and I (and I think others) are obsessing over the same issue.

I think that ventilated seats are a must have with leather. I know they are for me. But the real question that I think we need to understand is are they are must have with alcantara, or is alcantara inherently cooler?

I don't have them in my Cab, nor heated seats, either and I have a black interior. Nor have I had that in the convertibles I owned prior to this one. If you want 'em, get 'em....its only money!

However the very best option for your new Cab is a Smart Top Module, that's something I thought would be 'quaint' to have so I ordered one and wasn't sure if I was sold on it, but now I'm totally spoiled by it and its a must have.

I think that vented seats are not available with Alcantara, that it is necessary to order leather instead. I have no experience with vented seats in a cab as I have a coupe. Since they pull air they work notably better with the the AC is on and the air is cool and the windows are up. Not sure how that would translate in a cab with the top down.

heated and ventilated seats are definitely a must in a cab - imo

I used to think ventilated seats were a ridiculous overindulgence and waste of money. Then I sat in them.

I had them in my Boxster. Fabulous. Would never go without them if available in any car/truck.

That is correct and that is the dilemma that many GTS buyers, including the OP, are struggling with. Which do we go with - the cool-looking, but uncooled, GTS interior package with alcantara, or the standard, but cooled, leather interior?

I think they work great in my Cab. If I were buying a car on the lot and it had everything except cooled seats - I would not buy it.

Or the third option... leather ventilated seats and alcantara interior trim elsewhere (wheel, shifter, doors panels/arm rest, lower dash, center arm rests, A pillar). No deviated stitching with that of course but it also saves you $4k.

Coupe here, but I think the ventilated seats work really well. I had them with a black interior, and ordered them again for my new car with a black/ red interior. I think it would be a big sacrifice (as far as these things go) to go without ventilated seats.

The alcantara seats and center locks talked me out of a GTS. I was quite ready to pull the trigger.

By the time I looked into changing to full leather and saw that the 0 cost replacement for center locks is Carrera S wheels, and added other stuff in my C2S, all I got (beyond what I have) for the change cost was a fat butt and 30 hp.

So unless a great deal in a used GT3 or Turbo S comes by, I am waiting for the next gen and a couple of readily tuned turbos!

Oddly enough, I consider CL wheels to be a theft prevention feature.

have them in my wife's boxster, don't have them my 997.2 tts cab, miss them every day in the turbo. Alcantara rocks, but you can't ventilate, it would be a tough choice. in Texas or any other scorched earth states I would bypass Alcantara, if I was further north I'd bypass the ventilated.
