Drove a 2015 M3 and certainly liked the way it drove, but the sound was disappointing and it is 500# heavier sedan at the end of the day.
Decided to pick up a C2S and am glad I went that direction. After a couple hard blasts, I'd have been left wanting in the handling and sound department driving the M3.
Good choice, congrats!

Best to have both
If only it had a bigger fuel tank, I got tired of having to fill it up every few days when I was DD it.

Great thread. I was on the same path as many here. I have owned every iteration of M3 with the exception of the F80, and still have my e30 M3. I have had a love for both BMW's and Porsche since I was a kid, so I am a very biased enthusiast.

I was disappointed with the F80 as it was not as balanced as previous iterations and not to mention, the exhaust note was awful. My 991 is probably one of the best cars I have owned. My next move will more than likely be into an M5 for DD duty.

This thread was actually very helpful to me.... I recently replaced my 2015 5 series with a 2016 6 series Gran Coupe. Honestly - the 5 series M sport was about the perfect compromise between the M3 and 650. Not sure I'm loving the size of the 650 which it does not hide well but it's more comfortable that the M3 for highway cruising which is 90% of my driving. Also - The M3's post E46 just seem so cheap on the inside.... That and having a boat makes my 911 so much more special. Also blah blah blah you people talking about torque haha. The BMW V8tt is pretty legit.

It's a small price to pay given the F(ake)80 alternative.

Suppose I can tolerate an X6M, though my hate for turbo motors is well documented.
I should take one for a spin...
