Default 7MT question

14 Carrera 7MT
new, 5K miles, no mods,
at recent HPDE event at Atl Motorsports Park,
during the afternoon runs, the car would not let me shift into second gear,
going into a few high speed corners

in the intial morning session, no such issues, and no warning lights, temp issues, etc
after and in-between sessions, the car shifts normally in and out of 2nd gear, smooth, no strange noises or altered shift feel; now back on the street, it is perfectly normal -

any advice/insight would be appreciated
thanks

Some cars, under heavy load at the track with high g-forces, get a bit of 'twist' in the linkage at track events that causes the lever location to slightly change. The E36 M3 from BMW was famous for that. You may be experiencing a slight change to the shifting gate which affects your orientation to the shift lever - but that would be the only thing. Nothing mechanical would cause that otherwise.

Not only is the car twisted and affected by the lateral g-forces, but so is the driver. Since this reportedly happened only in "high speed corners" I'm going to have to agree with drcollie, as much as it pains me to do so.

the corners I am referring to are with big elevation/camber changes
probably exacerbating the 'twist' in the linkage
thanks for the feedback
I can sleep better now

Also, in the afternoon and towards the end of the sessions, the tranny fluid is hot and thinner, which affects shifting, plus all of the above...
