I feel the answer is simple. HRE does not cut corners at all. They use the best materials hands down. The majority of their materials are proprietary to meet their standards. They are a TUV certified company which ensures that every part of their processes meet the toughest standards in the world. TUV truly means nothing to the US consumer because you can purchase a non TUV approved wheel. It does mean you are buying a wheel that has been designed, engineered, and tested to the highest standards in the world.
There are other good companies, but I feel HRE does the best at finding that balance between form and function.

In a nut shell, TUV is essentially the strictest engineering status in our industry. It's one of the production and quality benchmarks we utilize to produce our products. We are one of the very few wheel manufacturers worldwide to receive this quality verification.

Slightly OT, but what is the story with the OEM Sport Techno wheel being 0.5" wider on the rear fitment accommodating 305 vs 295 ... wont an 11" take 305 anyway offset only differs my 2mm vs the other wheels?

Good question Larry. I don't know answer but the rear sportvtechno at 11.5 without spacer is a nice aggressive look.
