Default Valet parking

When you have to valet park do you ever ask the valet to park in the front? I go to play tennis 2x a week at a place that only has valet parking and street parking is pretty far away. With the new 991 they've offered to to park in front most times and I've given them a bigger tip. Does it come across as arrogant to ask to park in front or if they don't volunteer? What about at restaurants that are valet parking only?

I pretty much refuse to go to Valet Only restaurants. In fact, when did the valet parking trend change from a convenience to a necessity? At several restaurants near where I live, the valets take all the spots near the front of the restaurant, leaving the self parking in the back of a large strip or very far away.

These spots are supposed to be for the convenience of the customer, not the convenience of the valet parkers.

Always do. Flip them a $20 and they keep my car upfront. (I drive it and keep the keys)

I virtually almost always tip up front to keep my cars up front (S65 and 911C4S). In Miami that ranges from $20 to $50 - only alternative is if I find a space on the way to where I am going (unless it is raining).
It is the cheapest way to manage. .

Well, Miami is a whole different story. Paid $50 for valet and another $20 just to keep in up front at the Fontaine Blue.

Pay $70 to valet my car in front? I don't think so. That is why God built my wife's Lexus.

I don't suppose that you and your significant other split anything for dinner either.

Can't be arrogant for being generous. $20 if you need near spot in valet parking.

$200 and they'll put poles with red ribbons around the Porsche

How long does it take a new valet parking attendant to learn about Porsche Launch Control?

I just valeted my car on Thursday night. They always park it in front as I think they think it looks good. In fact they didn't even park it next to other cars they put it in front of them.

Today I learned that people let other people drive their cars... Fascinating.

Valet? Oh hell no. Especially not with a 7MT.

I don't even think they allow it!

People who never traveled to S Beach would never understand. Just like San Francisco where overnight parking is upwards of $70. It's the norm!
