Well, that used to work, but now you've ruined it for us, zirrah. When I was ordering my 991, I tried this. Most dealers won't bother giving you a price unless you are going to commit to an order - if local, they insist that you do it in person and bring a check with you. If remote, they want a credit card for a deposit before they give you a number.

Unfair? Maybe. But I can understand why they do this, I don't like it either, but you gotta work with it.

Caveat: in some state, they are not permitted to keep a deposit if you change your mind. I think California and maybe Texas? I know that's not the case here in NC; if I change my mind and I'm not a good customer of theirs (i.e. repeat business) then they can keep my deposit. But then I don't have to live in California and pay all of those taxes, so I guess the trade-off is worth it.

I priced my 2015 911 Turbo s dream at 201K. My dealer says ED has no price break. SHould I shop around for a dealer giving me an ED price break/ Is it possible?

I can get about 15K off a lot 2014 tts. Not bad for september.

I have never found a Porsche dealer that offers and ED discount, especially since now PCNA pass on around $4k in costs to the dealer (although allegedly they obtain an additional allocation as incentive)

This is something that I am really interested in as well. I have come into some $$$ and have decided to put myself into a 991. I have been wanting a 911 for years, but being 6'3 and almost 35" inseam, I never really fit comfortably. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to drive a 911 + Cayman GTS back to back. The 911 had me from the minute I sat down in it. Unfortunately, the dealership would not budge on the price at all. I found it strange as it was a 2014 and I was willing to purchase on the spot.

If anyone come across anything, please feel free to PM me or post here - I want a new car + the wait is going to kill me!

I think as a number of people have pointed out before, if a particular dealer is unwilling to make a deal, contact others in your area, with your wants etc and see who will give you their best price... let them compete, and let them know they are competing...

Also, who at this dealer would not deal? - if it was the floor sales guy I am not surprised, try calling their internet/fleet sales guy, or the finance mgr, tell them you are ready to buy the car now, ask them for their best price...

as has been noted, invoice markup to MSRP is around ~10-12% depending upon model/options... so there is some wiggle room.

Unfortunately, there is only one dealership in the area - I have started to do my due diligence and am going to start emailing others who have that I am looking for/in my price range and take it from there

They let you drive a GTS? Strange. I'd assume that car is already a customer's car awaiting delivery.

Before you buy your new 911 with all your new found money, pay off your debt and fully fund your 401K and IRA for 2014. $24k if under 50 yo. And $29.5k if over 50. IIRC.

I am in Phoenix - there is a dealership in Tucson but they don't really have what I am looking for.

They did let me go for a quick ride in the GTS - it surprised me that it was not a special order. I almost went with it, but really want the 911.

I am sure that in 5 years, they will all be worth half as much.

I don't care. I like and can afford a nice car.

email dealers in San Diego and Los Angeles they should be able to help...I got 9% off of a custom order so I don't see why you would not be able to at least get what I got for a 2014

This is good advice.

To the OP: The Internet can be your friend. A little searching will quickly find plenty of left-over 2014s for sale.
